Child Protection Officer (Cpo/t5/unicef)

INTRO Terre des Hommes Italy, nongovernmental international organization, is recruiting a Child Protection Officer to be involved in the implementation of Education and Protection projects for Syrian Refugees and affected populations in North Lebanon funded by UN agencies.   JOB PURPOSE The Child Protection Officer will oversee the field-level implementation of the UNICEF-funded child protection programming by providing technical support and guidance to project staff and partners as they conduct community outreach, organize psychosocial activities, and build community-level linkages. S/he will be responsible for coordinating with international and national NGOs working at the field-level on child protection and psychosocial support sectors to promote protection standards in policies and program activities.   DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Apply and systematize child protection standards, code of conduct. Perform all planning, organizational, monitoring and administrative tasks on regular basis in collaboration with the Project Manager and Educational Officer Perform regular assessment of the activities' quality of implementation and content Provide necessary technical support and documentation to enhance and sustain the activities' quality of implementation Refer beneficiaries requiring special care, and follow up the referred cases' conditions Ensure appropriate monitoring and evaluation systems are in place, support staff in all monitoring processes and provide monthly and weekly reports on progress of activities. Write weekly and monthly reports Ensure the collection of quality data Share information on field-level successes and challenges with the team Any other duties relating to the nature of the job as directed by the Protection Officer Supervision of the work of project staff providing coaching and support Carry out field visits and conduct home visits, awareness sessions, Focus Group Discussions/participatory assessments, meetings with partners; Organize implement and follow up on the progress of the child protection programming Providing social counselling, awareness, guidance, emotional support when needed Provide technical support and monitoring to the project staff in the organization of psychosocial activities Supervise field-based teams to develop work plans focused on key outputs and outcomes; Ensure field teams complete tasks as assigned in a timely, professional way; Provide technical support for child protection programming through support to field staff and partner organizations; Engage local partners on regular basis to oversee work and ensure child protection and psychosocial activities are technically sound and meeting key deliverables; Collaborate with local stakeholders including municipalities, Social Development Centers, schools and community based organizations to build community-based mechanisms that respond to child protection needs; Develop service provision referral mechanisms and case management capacity with local partners, local government stakeholders, and other actors including dissemination of information about service providers to refugee and vulnerable host communities;   Experience and requirements Experience required three (3) years minimum Education degree: Bachelor or University Degree in  education, psychology, social work, sociology, or relevant field Experience in working with children mandatory Experience in working with children in emergency preferably Field work experience Mandatory Management experience mandatory Three (3) years of relevant work experience in the area of child protection preferably including case management and psychosocial activities Experience in working in NGO preferable Fluency in Arabic in English mandatory Knowledge of child protection standards Proficient in Word and excel
