Child Protection Officer-North Bekaa

Objective 1: Provides Technical guidance and direction for PSS activities provided to vulnerable children / adolescents and their families in community, centers. .

  • Responsible of the effective planning, implementation and monitoring of the PSS activities in the area
  • Monitors the implementation of activities;
  • Makes frequent visits to the centers, to monitor the implementation of activities, to identify opportunities and constraints and to make any adjustments needed including staff training;
  • Makes frequent visits to monitor the implementation of the activities in outreach.
  • Supervises and coordinates the work of staff involved in the Family Focused psychosocial support activities.
  • Coordinates with the coordinators to ensure effective delivery of age appropriate activities in community centers/SDCs.

Objective 2: Develops training programs and assists in capacity building for staff and partners, possibly in priority thematic areas such as CP, psychosocial support, community resilience

  • Designs a training and capacity building plan for TDH staff including community volunteers, partners, CBOs and LNGOs members and SDCs, cascade any training to partners and field staff
  •  
  • Empower the field staff trough ToT and/or training on identification of children, basic CP , core concepts of CPMS

Objective 3: Supports the Project Managers in the establishment or follow up of the project budget & monitoring project expenses.

Objective 4:. Supervises the preparation of special events, recreational, cultural and sport activities together with project staff.

Objective 5:  Supporting Community Outreach interventions (home visits, focus group, community meetings, awareness sessions), ensuring a direct participation of the beneficiaries in the planning of the activities;

Objective 6: Support and guide the animators/other relevant staff in CP and non-CP Referrals to the neededservice providers

Objective 7: Represents  the agency/organization in meetings organized by donors and with other partners and other actors (ex: local CPWG, taskforces, meetings… ), to advocate and promote the program goals and objectives, and communicate with major partners on policies.

 

Objective 8: Liaise with other agencies/NGOs/government bodies/donors to ensure coordination, implementation of common standards in the field and consideration of protection issues in assistance programs.

Objective 9:  Reports, Capitalization and Communication

  • Written Report on a monthly basis to the Project Manager and the Child Protection Specialist
  • Supports the Project Manager in drafting the quarterly and final reports to be sent to the donors.
  • Driving license is mandatory

And any other duties seemed relevant to the position and assigned by your manager.

Knowledge:

  • Trained on the minimum standards of Child Protection
  • Trained on GVB in a plus
  • Knowledge on the Psychosocial support guidance in Lebanon
  • Security and hostile environment training is a plus
  • Understanding of Humanitarian response, coordination mechanism, humanitarian reform and actions
  • Knowledge on PSEAH, safeguarding policies, and on the complaint feedback mechanisms.

The Child Protection Officer provides technical guidance on  psychosocial support activities provided to vulnerable children, adolescents and families  in North Bekaa.
