Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drive Office vehicle(s) for the transport of authorized personnel.
  • Collect and deliver mail, documents, and other items as assigned.
  • Manage the day- to– day maintenance of the assigned vehicle to ensure road worthiness. This includes daily check of tires, brakes, engine oil, fan belt etc.
  • Arrange for minor repairs and ensure that the vehicle is kept clean.
  • Make sure that the vehicle always has a full tank before departure for field trips.
  • Ensure that the vehicle undergoes regular service intervals.
  • Ensure that vehicle(s) is used only for official/authorized business, as advised by the supervisor.
  • Find the most direct routing over the best available roads to the destination.
  • Make sure that the daily log sheet for the vehicle is prepared.
  • Make sure that all legal papers related to the car (Insurance, Mecanique) are up to date and paid on time.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discreteness in discussions which involve office members.
  • Ensure that the steps required by the local rules and regulations (pertaining to driving) are taken in case of an accident.
  • Take proper measurements to reduce potential security threats along transport routes.
  • Respect the values and principles of the people to drive.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records on trip sheets, mileage, vehicle maintenance, fuel bills, incident reports, accident reports, vehicle condition reports and other records that are requested by management.
  • Has the ability to administer First Aid support.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

  Qualification and Personal skills: 

  • Public Driving License
  • Knowledge of driving rules & regulations and skills in minor vehicle repair
  • At least 2-3 years of work experience as a driver with safe driving record
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to establish priorities and to plan work assignments and work under pressure of frequent and tight deadlines.
  • Technical knowledge for maintaining automobiles is mandatory.
  • Proven interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
