Education Technical Officer

  • Specific Responsibilities
  • Provides direction, supervision and evaluation of educational focal points as directed.
  • Line manager of Education Focal Points.
  • In coordination with education focal points, plan the classroom curriculum, lesson plans, assessments and classroom management techniques.
  • Responsible for providing guidance for education focal points and teachers by planning class schedules, in coordination with CP in education officer and inclusion officer.
  • Collaborate with education specialist to design learning materials, and to revise curricula, and assessments.
  • Assesses children progress in coordination with MEAL officer and determines the needs for additional reinforcements or adjustments to instructional techniques.
  • Work together with MEAL department on regular reporting requirement to ensure adherence to standards and quality data.
  • Responsible for the recruitment of teachers in coordination with HR officer, and Edu team.
  • Observing lessons and identifying teachers’ strengths and weaknesses.
  • Providing feedback, advice and training sessions for teachers and education team to use new/revised curriculum for different educational activities (CB-ECE, BLN, and Foreign language courses)
  • Building teacher networks and encouraging teachers to share their resources and experiences.
  • In collaboration with Inclusive officer, provides consultations to classroom teachers regarding classroom adaptation, instructional adaptation, adaptive equipment, behavior modification plan and other instructional interventions to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
  • Support CBOs that deliver education activities to monitor children’s progress; Train the CBOs education staff in educational methodologies, instructional techniques and monitoring tools; Observe their activities to give guidance for better quality.
  • Provide timely and detailed reporting to the education specialist. 
  • Attend regular meetings of the education team
  • Participate to relevant technical working groups
  • The Education Technical officer will be based in Baabda or Tyre, with frequent field visits

- Minimum 3 years of experience within technical expertise area in education context
- Knowledge of Lebanon context and response
- Ability to work as part of a team and to interact with diverse positions
- Fluency in written and spoken Arabic
- Good command of written and spoken English and French
- Good computer Literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
