Social Worker

INTRODUCTION Terre des Hommes Italy, non-governmental international organization, is recruiting a Social Worker to be involved in the implementation of the project: “Strengthening Protection for Syrian refugees and vulnerable Lebanese girls and boys and their caregivers through quality prevention and response services”. JOB PURPOSE The social worker will monitor and identify protection cases. She/he will support the Team Leader. He/she will also facilitate the awareness and information activities in the area.  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  Monitor protection risks and needs and identifying protection cases; To support the Team Leader in coordinating outreach activities in each of the areas covered by the project; To plan and organize assessment of needs and outreach activities under the supervision of the Team Leader and Project Coordinator; To support the Team in outreach the beneficiaries; To organize regular awareness and information activities in collaboration with specialized NGOs in collaboration with the Team Leader; To identify beneficiaries with special needs; To refer beneficiaries with special needs to specialized NGOs according to predefined referral pathways after the approval of the Team Leader; To participate to the weekly meetings with TDH IT Staff, to share lessons learned and exchange experiences; To ensure proper documentation of data collected (hard and soft copies); To write weekly reports in collaboration with the Team Leader; To share information on field-level successes and challenges with the project team To comply with the TDH IT Code of Conduct Any other duties relating to the nature of the job as directed by the Project Manager and Coordinator.  Experience and requirements  Degree in social and behavioral science, preferable social work or any other related field At least 1 year work experience in child protection programs in development or emergency, preferable social work or case management Experience in working in a cross cultural environment preferable Demonstrated Skills and Competencies: Team player, flexible, network-builder, able to handle pressure, enjoy field work Demonstrated understanding of working with children and particularly vulnerable children Good communication skills Time management and organizational skills Fluency in written and spoken Arabic, English speaking is a plus Microsoft Office: Word and Excel is a must
