JOB SUMMARY An experienced Expert in Geographic Information Systems and applications is required to assist T.E.R.R.E.Liban in providing Geographical assessment and submitting technical recommendations to be included in the design of recreational municipal development BALADI project implemented in a forest area.   BACKGROUND The USAID BALADI project is a five-year program that extends from September 2012 until September 2017. It seeks to encourage innovation in service delivery by local governments. This project is implemented by Caritas Lebanon in nine Lebanese districts in partnership with T.E.R.R.E.Liban. It sponsors an in-kind competitive grants program that responds to governance and economic opportunity needs. All planned activities under this project should be compliant with USAID rules and local regulations.   TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES     Review of the municipal development project’s preliminary design. Conduct Geographical site assessment in coordination with T.E.R.R.ELiban. Provide the necessary technical recommendations for the implementation of a forest trail, camping and rest area such as pruning to be included in the design of the recreational municipal development BALADI project… Provide a time line and cost estimation for the implementation of the technical recommendations. Review and approve the updated design of the project to ensure compliance with the provided recommendations. Submit a final report detailing the Geographical site assessment results and recommendations for each recreational Municipality Development BALADI Project.     JOB TERMS   Up to Five days consultancy per week Communication and transportation are not paid   EXPERIENCE REQUIRED / JOB RELATED SKILLS            ·            Bachelor in Environmental Management/ Environmental Engineer/ any other related Major.          ·            At least 5 years of similar experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and applications.          ·            USAID Experience is a plus.          ·            Attention to accuracy and detail required.          ·            Able to perform under tight deadlines.          ·            Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, coordinate, multi-task, meet deadlines and work with attention to detail.          ·            Excellent knowledge of English and Arabic; French is a plus.          ·            Excellent reporting, communication and interpersonal skills.          ·            Good computer applications skills.
