- Overview
Thread of Peace, commonly known as House of Peace started to form as a local initiative in 2012 but was officially registered in 2019. The organization was formed by a group of young people who were together searching for meaning and for a sense of belonging during a time of change. Their diverse backgrounds and common purpose made them a valuable team, giving humanitarian assistance to displaced people, hoping that the message of hope would spread through their diversity to contribute to building a better future. The “family” formed gradually grew and its mission persisted despite the fact that many of its founders have moved on. The “House of Peace” thrived as a virtual house holding an ever-expanding family with a humanitarian mission of promoting peace in society and advocating for conflict sensitivity.

- Our Mission
Threads of Peace, commonly known as House of Peace, is a local non-governmental organization established in 2015 in Lebanon. We are a team with diverse backgrounds and expertise, sharing similar values. We exist to support social peace, mainstream conflict sensitivity, and promote the well-being of different communities, civil society actors, the private sector, and the public sector.
- Our Core Values
We as a team and individually are guided by the values of non-violence, participation, diversity, the promotion of a supportive environment, accountability, and development. Our understanding of each of these core values is outlined below.
- Non-violence: We strive to avoid harm and promote peace, seeking alternatives to violence.
- Participation: We believe in the right of every individual to have the opportunity to actively engage in decision-making processes, activities, and issues that affect their lives and communities.
- Diversity: We recognize and appreciate the wide range of human differences, including differences in race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, religion, socioeconomic status, abilities, and perspectives.
- A supportive environment: We believe in creating and fostering conditions that promote the well-being, growth, and success of individuals, groups, and communities. We emphasize the importance of providing emotional, social, and practical support to enable individuals to reach their full potential and thrive.

- Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic planning and design of all HOPe programs in alignment with organizational goals and beneficiary needs
- Ensure all program activities directly contribute to HOPe’s strategic objectives and stated thematic priorities
- Develop comprehensive annual program work plans and associated budgets in collaboration with Program Coordinators
- Promote innovation, adaptation, and continuous improvement within program design, methodologies, and implementation strategies
- Stay updated on best practices, emerging trends, and relevant research in peacebuilding, conflict sensitivity, and well-being programming Oversee the timely and effective implementation of all program activities through the Program Coordinators
- Supervise, guide, and mentor the team of Program Coordinators, fostering their professional development and collaborative teamwork
- Coordinate effectively with the Organization Support Manager for essential logistical, HR, and financial program support
- Resolve complex programmatic challenges and inter-team conflicts in a timely, fair, and effective manner
- Ensure consistent integration of conflict sensitivity principles, HOPe's core values, and ethical standards across all programs
- Identify, assess, and mitigate programmatic risks, developing and implementing proactive contingency plans with Coordinators
- Contribute to the refinement and standardization of program management tools, templates, and methodologies across the organization
- Monitor program progress against objectives, timelines, and indicators, ensuring effective tracking and course correction
- Collaborate closely with the R-MEAL & Grants Manager to support robust program monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks
- Facilitate regular program review and strategic planning meetings with Program Coordinators to drive performance and learning
- Champion organizational learning by documenting, sharing, and applying program best practices and lessons learned
- Promote synergies, integration, and cross-learning opportunities between HOPe’s different program areas for enhanced impact
- Manage program budgets efficiently, ensuring adherence to approved spending, donor compliance, and financial accountability
- Guarantee program compliance with all donor contractual requirements and internal organizational policies and procedures
- Contribute technical expertise and innovative ideas to the development of new program proposals and grant applications
- Prepare accurate and timely consolidated program reports for the Deputy Executive Director and for donor requirements
- Support the Deputy Executive Director in representing HOPe’s programs to external audiences and forums as needed
- Cultivate and maintain strong collaborative relationships with program partners, community leaders, and key stakeholders
- Advocate for the needs and successes of programs internally to ensure adequate resourcing, visibility, and strategic alignment
- Languages:
- Proficiency in Arabic is required.
- Advanced English is essential for reporting and communication with partners.
- Requirements and Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in program management, preferably in peacebuilding, conflict sensitivity, or development sectors.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in social sciences, conflict studies, international development, or related fields is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong background in program planning and design, leadership, budget development and oversight, and ensuring donor compliance. Familiarity with project management tools, monitoring & evaluation systems, and Microsoft Office.
- Management: Demonstrated experience supervising teams and working collaboratively across departments.
