IT/Software engineer

IT and Technical Responsibilities:

  1. Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, networks, and peripherals.
  2. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues, including diagnosing malfunctions.
  3. Monitor and optimize computer systems and networks for performance and security.
  4. Provide technical support to users, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
  5. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
  6. Ensure data integrity and security through regular backups.
  7. Collaborate with IT professionals for system planning, upgrades, and integration.
  8. Stay updated on IT trends, technologies, and best practices.
  9. Document IT assets, configurations, and procedures.
  10. Procuring and installing IT equipment and software.
  11. Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications.
  12. Write efficient, well-documented code and troubleshoot defects.
  13. Review code and provide feedback to team members.
  14. Coordinate with QA engineers for software quality assurance.
  15. Participate in software development planning, estimation, and documentation.
  16. Deploying and maintaining software in production environments.

Research and Technology Integration:

  1. Develop and maintain databases and data storage solutions for research data.
  2. Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies for critical research data.
  3. Collaborate with researchers to understand tech needs and propose aligned solutions.
  4. Evaluate, select, and deploy specialized software tools for research.
  5. Train researchers in using software and tools effectively.
  6. Institute robust cybersecurity measures for protecting research data.
  7. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and data protection standards.
  8. Foster IT-research collaboration to drive technology-driven innovation.
  9. Integrate IT solutions into research workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Desired qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Information Technology, or any related field.

- A minimum of 7 years of experience in cloud technologies, server management, virtualization, and digitalization.

- Proficient comprehension of networking, server administration, and database management

- Proficiency in programming languages and scripting for automation.

- Familiarity with research methodologies and tools used in the specific field of the firm's research.

- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and data protection regulations.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.

- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
