Public Health Policy Officer

1. Objectives

  • Guide CRD’s public health initiatives through the development of effective policy frameworks.
  • Conduct policy analysis and provide recommendations to support public health interventions and advocacy.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to promote collaborative policy approaches that improve health outcomes.

2. Key Responsibilities

  • Policy Analysis and Development
    • Research, analyze, and develop policies that address public health needs, especially those impacting vulnerable populations.
    • Draft policy briefs, position papers, and recommendations on relevant public health issues.
  • Advocacy and Stakeholder Engagement
    • Engage with government bodies, NGOs, and community leaders to promote CRD’s public health policy agenda.
    • Represent CRD in policy forums and advocacy coalitions, fostering partnerships that enhance health policy impact.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of current health policies and identify areas for improvement or adjustment.
    • Develop monitoring tools and metrics to assess the impact of health policies on public health outcomes.
  • Communication and Reporting
    • Prepare clear and accessible policy documents, presentations, and reports to communicate findings and recommendations.
    • Ensure alignment of CRD’s public health policies with national and international standards and best practices.
  • Capacity Building
    • Provide training and guidance to CRD staff and partners on policy development processes and public health advocacy.
    • Support capacity-building efforts for stakeholders to enhance understanding of health policy issues.

3. Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in public health, Health Policy or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5years of experience in public health policy, advocacy, or a related area.
  • Strong understanding of public health systems, policy analysis, and health advocacy.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills, with experience in writing policy documents and reports.
  • Familiarity with national and international health policy frameworks and standards.

4. Competencies

  • Proficiency in health policy development and advocacy.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information for diverse audiences and make data-driven policy recommendations.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in English and Arabic Language.
