Public Health Quantitative Data Analyst

Under the supervision of the CRD’s Research Unit, the incumbent will:

  • Investigate, analyze, and evaluate data using accepted statistical techniques.
  • Recommend and develop statistical approaches for use in analyses.
  • Solve complex statistical and programming problems.
  • Determine proper methodology and evaluation processes for planned research projects including sample size determination/power calculations, study design, and interim data monitoring of studies in progress.
  • Prepare analysis plans and write detailed specifications for analysis files, consistency checks, tables, and figures; document analyses.
  • Organize and create documents and tables related to datasets; communicate with data providers internal and external about accuracy and consistent documented formatting.
  • Plan statistical programming activities.
  • Provide clear written and verbal summary interpretations of statistical analyses conducted; effectively communicate with colleagues of all backgrounds regarding statistical matters.
  • Contribute to publications and reports including drafting methods and results sections as well as providing appropriate tables and figures.
  • Other tasks as assigned by the CEO.

• A Master’s Degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Demography, Mathematics or any related area with a strong quantitative or analytical component
• Three to five years of relevant experience in data collection and statistical analysis.
• Proven knowledge of social research methods, especially survey methodology.
• Extensive experience of working with a variety of statistical software like R, SAS, STATA, SPSS, etc.
• Expertise in all aspects of data analysis with special regard to an age and gender perspective.
• Proven ability to manipulate and present data by using standard tabulation and statistical software packages.
• Experience in data management.
• Excellent written and oral presentation skills, including drafting skills.
• Self-motivation and strong team spirit;
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic – French is a plus.
