Survey Design Officer / Epidemiologist

  • Conduct and lead quantitative research including research design, tool design, analysis and discussion, and generation of recommendations.
  • Investigate, analyze, and interpret data using accepted statistical techniques.
  • Recommend and develop statistical approaches for use in analyses.
  • Prepare analysis plans and write detailed specifications for analysis files, consistency checks, tables, and figures.
  • Provide clear written and verbal summary interpretations of statistical analyses conducted.
  • Oversees and support the work of the research project implementation team (junior researchers).
  • Lead training on new projects and research tools with junior researchers.
  • Assist in business development including conceptualization of new research studies, proposal writing, and strategic planning.
  • Organize project files, data, and documents.
  • Attend meetings with project partners.
  • Strengthen team dynamics.
  • Capacitate the research skills of the junior researchers.
  • Contribute to reports write-up.
  • Develop articles for publication.

● Minimum of a Master’s degree in Public Health or Epidemiology, or similar healthcare related fields with a strong quantitative or analytical component is a must.
● At least 5 years of working experience in research/project management.
● Proven experience of working with a variety of statistical software like R, SAS, STATA, SPSS, etc.
● Proven knowledge of research methods, especially survey methodology.
● Proven ability to manipulate and present data by using standard tabulation and statistical software packages.
● Proven ability to visualize and communicate the data, including within a larger narrative report.
● Excellent verbal, written, analytical, and organizational skills.
● Collaborative and constructive team member.
● Ability to meet tight deadlines, multitask, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work in a fast-paced environment.
● Knowledge of qualitative analysis software is a plus.
● Examples of published research is a plus.
● Fluency in written and oral English and Arabic. Other regionally relevant languages are an advantage.
