Access To Information Expert

The primary tasks of the Access, to Information Expert will be the following: - Conduct research on the benefits of Access to Information legislation especially for the private sector (mostly SMEs); he/she will also analyse the current situation in Lebanon and document the capacity to access information through the public administration; - Author a comprehensive, hands-on handbook based on this research that LTA will use and distribute to private sector organisations a part of their Access to Information campaign. It will be a part of LTA’s project to strengthen the rule of law in Lebanon through rights education.   Deliverables Clear outline to be submitted by the end of July, 2013. At least 20 pages of written material on Access to Information and its benefits for the private sector (especially SMEs) in general and specifically in Lebanon. (Similar example : http://www.transparency-lebanon.org/publications/foecgen.pdf) The chapters must be specific and targeting citizens in general and specifically the private sector (mainly SMEs)   Qualifications: - Masters degree in law, business administration, economics, journalism or related field; - Extensive experience (minimum 8 years) working with private/public sector organisations, with a good understanding of the private sector's interactions with public administration; - Experience of working with transparency and democracy related issues is a plus;  - Excellent research skills; - Good knowledge of the status of access to information and transparency legislation in Lebanon; knowledge of access to Information laws in other countries is a plus; - Ability to write succinctly for a non-academic audience; - Ability to work and conduct research independently and meeting deadlines;
