Background: The Lebanese Transparency Association (LTA) was established in May 1999, as the Lebanese chapter of Transparency International. It is the lead organization in Lebanon focused on curbing corruption and promoting good governance. LTA brings together business people, academics, economists, lawyers, and intellectuals to fight corruption, improve the quality of life, and encourage civil society to take measures towards transparency and accountability.   LTA launched the Lebanese Advocacy and Legal Advice Center (LALAC) four years ago to generate dialogue on corruption issues. The purpose of LALAC is two-fold: it provides victims and witnesses of corruption with free legal assistance and advice so that they can pursue their corruption-related complaints; and it harnesses powerful, real life data on the mechanisms and consequences of corruption. LALAC is then able to more effectively engage in strategic advocacy initiatives, and to better translate citizens’ concerns into structural change in institutional policy and practice.   The primary responsibilities of the Intern are to:   Assist the team with any administrative or operational tasks that may be required Regularly research on cases of corruption within Lebanon and the MENA region as well as organize and update LTA’s database. Facilitate communication between LTA and other stakeholders throughout the implementation of projects. Liaise with local partners and the LTA communications department to publicize LTA and LALAC’s services. Coordinating in drafting newsletters and other reports. Organizing in coordination with the Programs Manager during outreach sessions.   The Intern should have the following qualifications:   BS/BA in either Law, Political Science, International Relations, Public Administration, Sociology, Communications, Public Relations, or any related field.
