Supply And Logistics Assistant

1. PURPOSE OF THE POST Under general supervision, performs a variety of relatively complex clerical duties related to the supply and logistics operations of the office. 2. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Under the supervision of the National Supply and Logistics Officer, to assist and ensure timely and efficient supply and logistics support in the context of programme emergency supplies and warehouse keeping for emergency programme needs. 2. To assist in the preparation & monitoring of the supply and logistics plan in the field 3. Provides reports on logistics to concerned programmes sections and to the supply& logistics unit at national level. 4. To assist the Supply and Logistics Officer in conducting spot checks, assessment, monitoring against supply related issues. 5. To assist the Supply & logistics Officer in preparing logistics training to partners and UNICEF staff in the field. 6. To organize in coordination with the Supply & logistics Officer, all transportation of goods to the final destination/consignee in collaboration with the programme responsible. Such as to fill and follow up all document related to transportation to the consignee (waybills, delivery notes, etc…) 7. To assist the Supply & logistics Officer in organizing and maintaining any stores/warehouses containing UNICEF stock. To provide timely stocks report and introduce needed data’s in VISION. To record incoming and outgoing programme supplies requisitions timely. 8. Performs other duties, as required. 3. WORKING CONDITIONSThe TA is based in Zahle but the incumbent will rotate between the other field offices (Qubayat, Tripoli and Tyre) based on needs. The work in the office is quite intense and might require sometimes to work over timeThe post doesn’t require any physical requirement4. WORK RELATIONSHIPS Indicate both the purpose, level and frequency of contacts within and outside UNICEF, in order to perform the work effectively.                   a)CONTACT: Internal PURPOSE & FREQUENCY: Frequent internal contacts to exchange information. b)CONTACT: External PURPOSE & FREQUENCY: Frequent external contacts to exchange information. 6.QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES required to perform the duties of the post: a) EDUCATION: University degree in Business Administration or related field. b) WORK EXPERIENCE: Minimum four years supply and logistics related clerical work. c)LANGUAGES (Indicate the language requirements.): Arabic and English language are the working language.
