The Office has a clear and comprehensive Information Management strategy that guides all IM activities in the country.
The Office has stepped up its leadership role in providing quality IM services and delivers reliable, accessible and user-friendly information to UNHCR and partners.
Global data standards, and where appropriate, the establishment of country-specific common data standards are adopted by UNHCR and its partners.
The Office's capacity to deliver high quality reports and maps to the operation and the sectors, including to headquarters, is reinforced.
The Office's coordination role is enhanced through quality maps and IM tools that assist in identifying gaps in the refugee response.
Responsibility (process and functions undertaken to achieve results)
Under the overall guidance of the Information Management Officer, the incumbent will:
Prepare thematic maps incorporating information related to population, partners, protection, sectoral data and assistance, and disseminate the products in digital and hard copy formats.
Identify and obtain the data and information elements required to produce standardized information products and design and manage respective data/information collection plans for baseline and context-specific data.
Support the Office in the analysis of processed data and information and perform data quality and consistency control.
Assist with designing and implementing a structured dissemination plan for information products and services as appropriate (e.g. web portal, mailing list, information centres, etc.), including the definition of standard operating procedures for clearing information products for release.
Prepare Power Point presentations, maps and other info-graphics products for meetings, field missions, as required.
Follow up with UNHCR implementing and operational partners to obtain updated data on sectoral activities and produce 3W and 5W maps.
Ensure management of geo data related to operations including updated metadata, data sharing within UNHCR and with partners and backups.
Post updated maps and related geo data to the UNHCR Portal (http://data.unhcr.org).
Perform other duties as may be required.

If determined by operational needs, chair the refugee IM Working Group
Assist in the recruitment and training of data collectors and data entry personnel, if requested.
