Accountability(key results that will be achieved)- UNHCR’s protection policies, standards and doctrine are consistently and coherently applied.- UNHCR has credibility in the country with external partners to protect and find durable solutions for persons of concernResponsibility (process and functions undertaken to achieve results)- Assists in the establishment of close working relations with officials in Ministry of Interior and Ministry of Foreign Affairs;- Acts on behalf of the Representative, Deputy and the Heads of Legal and Durable Solutions Units to convey, clarify and explain UNHCR’s positions to Government;- Informs the Representative on a continuing basis of relevant information on the outcome of discussions with MOI, MFA concerning deportation, refoulement, detention, training of officials etc.;- Acts as interpreter during meetings held by the Representative or visitors from Headquarters with senior officials;- Accompanies the Representative/Deputy Representative and Headquarters visitors to camps, border missions and provincial cities;- Drafts correspondence and reports as required;- May be required to supervise and coordinate the work of lower level staff;- Undertakes other duties as required.

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (please define the educational background, the relevant job experience and the language(s) that are essential to perform the work of the post)
- University degree (BA) in Political Science, Economics. Law, Business Administration or related field
- Minimum 2 years of work experience relevant to the function;
- Good knowledge of the English Language, both written and spoken and excellent knowledge of local languages.
- Strong presentation, drafting and analytical skills.
