Information Management Unit Intern – INT098 – Internship - Tripoli, Lebanon

Background Information/Organizational Context

The purpose of this internship is to enable young professionals to gain direct Information Management experience in a UNHCR operation by integrating to the workflow and activities of the Information Management Unit at Tripoli Office, Lebanon. 

Duties and Responsibilities

The Intern will perform the following functions:

  • Assist in data collection, processing and analysis and perform information quality and consistency control.
  • Assist in data curation through manual or semi-manual/semi-automatic methods on raw data received from multiple sources, with the scope of further analysis.
  • Support the production of Information Management products such as summary statistics, maps, dashboards and infographics.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Advanced Excel skills
Good English written and oral skills;
SQL db management skills is preferable;
Ability to work alone, yet readiness to work as a team member;

In order to be considered for an internship, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Recent graduate (those persons who completed their studies within one year of applying) or current student in a graduate/undergraduate school programme from a university or higher education facility accredited by UNESCO; and
Have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in a field relevant or of interest to the work of the Organization.
An individual whose father, mother, son, daughter, brother or sister is a staff member of UNHCR, including a Temporary Appointment holder or a member of the Affiliate Workforce, is not eligible for an internship.
