FUNCTIONAL STATEMENT Describe the accountabilities, responsibilities and authorities associated with the positionAccountability (key results that will be achieved)- Proactively work to support and assist the mass information activities and materialResponsibility (process and functions undertaken to achieve results)Under the guidance of the Mass Information Officer and the overall supervision of the Operation Office, the Intern will perform the following tasks: To help create and disseminate information material (brochures, leaflets, videos) according to the needs of the UNHCR operations To support liaising with the partners and refugee community and support on most suitable and effective methodologies (community volunteers, radio spots, IEC material, SMS system, etc.) in coordination with MI Officer in Beirut Assist in the interagency mapping compilation of all information activities in Lebanon Support with translation into Arabic of information material Proactively gather, collate and summarise information about the activities of all the UN agencies and NGOs in the respective field location to make this readily available. Ensure refugee involvement in the development of messages and information systems developed Support with the development and administration of the UNHCR website dedicated to refugees Perform other duties as requested.

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. Define the educational background, the relevant job experience and the language(s) that are essential to perform the work of the position.
 University Degree, preferably in mass communication and information; Applicants must have an excellent knowledge of English and Arabic with advanced written and verbal skills.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES. Describe any experience or knowledge that would be an asset, such as: UNHCR Learning Programmes, other training, additional languages, Field/HQs experience, etc.
