Responsibility (process and functions undertaken to achieve results)
Under the guidance of the Protection Officer (Legal/Detention) and RSD officer (Filing) and the overall supervision of the Operation Office, the Intern will perform the following tasks:
For legal and detention
- Providing trend analysis based on the detention statistics and conducting legal study on legal detention framework in Lebanon;
- Consolidating the detention referrals, processing the detention database and assisting the detention monitoring through database management. The person needs to learn how to use tracking tools such as ProGres, RAIS and detention tracking tools. Assisting with technical advice to the field offices on tracking tools;
- Assisting in consolidating reports on detention from the field reports and in drafting weeklies and monthlies;
- Assisting in coordination with the field offices in reporting and implementation of detention monitoring;
- Conducting phone calls and interviews with POC released from detention, to obtain follow-up information and provide informal counselling (provision of advice on available assistance etc.)
For RSD
- Proactively work to support and assist the RSD Unit in counselling of persons of concern, file management, and Country of Origin (COI) research upon request

- Under the guidance of the Assistant RSD Officer and the overall supervision of the RSD Officer, the Intern will perform the following tasks:
- Undertake counselling for recognised refugees about their rights, obligations and access to assistance.
- Upon request, assist the RSD unit in scheduling and re-scheduling of RSD appointment.
- Assist the Filing Room in the adding of renewals/addition of other documents to SYR files.
- Ensure that non-SYR registrations are placed in physical files.
- Conduct Country of Origin (COI) research upon request.
- Support with translation into Arabic of information material.
- Perform other duties as requested.
The intern will divided his/her tasks equally between registration and legal functions
