The registration assistant is a member of the registration unit within the protection section in the Branch Office. S/he is responsible for providing support and guidance to the registration units in the sub and field offices and liaises accordingly to ensure harmonization and adherence to the standard operating procedures. S/he will, in particular, provide support for registration, counseling, and detailed information to persons of concern regarding assistance and durable solutions in accordance with UNHCR policies and procedures

- The adherence to the standard operating procedures to ensure harmonization of registration procedures countrywide.
- The registration and counseling of asylum-seekers and refugees in accordance with UNHCR policies and standards.
- The identification of vulnerable asylum-seekers and refugees and their referral to other units within the office and/or implementing partners in an accurate and timely manner.
- The management of expectations of asylum-seekers and refugees.
Responsibility(process and functions undertaken to achieve results)
- Assist the Registration manager in providing support and guidance to the field on all issues relating to registration.
- Assist in developing work plans for the field, including follow up and provision of support when needed.
- Assist in monitoring progress and performance of the field registration unit.
- Conduct missions to the field to provide support when needed.
- Follow up on administrative issues relating to Registration Unit of the Branch Office, and monitoring of activities of the field.
- Compile periodic registration statistical reports.
- Analyze data to ensure data quality and integrity, and report trends and issues as required.
- Custodian of meeting planning, note taking and information dissemination.
- Support field in conducting registration interviews.
- Assist in the development of the training calendar and implementation.
- Ensure quality and integrity of information captured at registration, notably through peer review of registered cases and follow up with respective Field offices;
- Ensure constant and accurate upkeep of data (physical and electronic) to reflect status of persons of concern by checking that all ProGres data fields are filled in properly.
- Draft routine correspondence for follow up of instructions provided by the Branch Office to analyze gaps and suggest solutions.

- Minimum 2 years of previous job experience relevant to the function;
