Resettlement Assistant - G4 - Rst 004 - (Unops Contract – Affiliated Workforce)

- Interview, prepare and refer for review resettlement cases (RRFs) weekly to resettlement countries in accordance with the standard operating procedures, policies and priorities of the office, ensuring that photographs, signatures, medical reports and all supporting documents are available; - Prepare and refer cases (Emergency or Medical) to the direct supervisor for the purpose of reviewing and case submission to HQs through the Regional Resettlement Hub; - Maintain high quality in submitted resettlement cases (RRFs), with convincing advocacy and clearance from exclusion and credibility concerns; - Submit recommendations on cases not to be submitted for resettlement for approval by the RST supervisor; - Provide persons of concern and partners with up-to-date and accurate information on UNHCR’s resettlement policies and procedures and assist in counselling and informing refugees in a timely manner on status of their individual files; - Ensure effective in-country communication on the status and follow-up on refugees being considered for resettlement; - Act as focal point for resettlement countries; updating cases, responding to queries, monitoring submissions, quotas and decisions of resettlement countries and counselling refugees on outcome; - Organize logistical support for governments undertaking resettlement missions; - Provide administrative support for resettlement-related training activities; - Coordinate travel and departure arrangements for refugees accepted for resettlement; - Contribute to establishing good working relations with UNHCR counterparts, including resettlement representatives, government authorities and NGOs through liaison and consistent follow-up with UNHCR counterparts on individual cases, caseloads and issues, when required; - Do systematic data entry in ProGres according to the Resettlement Standard Operating Procedures and run ProGres queries upon request; - Mainstream age, gender and diversity in all areas of work, and ensure the full participation of persons of concern in matters relating to their own protection; - Comply with UNHCR’s policy priorities such as those related to age, gender and diversity as well as HIV/AIDS; - Draft correspondence and reports from oral instructions, previous correspondence, or other available sources in accordance with office procedures; - Performs other duties as required.
