Meets with and interview refugees and persons of concerns to assess resettlement needs, provide counselling and prepare resettlement submissions.
Meets individual resettlement submission and reviews targets weekly to ensure that resettlement quotas allocated to Lebanon are met.
Assists in managing a process to ensure country-wide understanding for and compliance with UNHCR’s standard operating procedures for resettlement.
Assists in guiding and capacitating the country operation to prepare consistent and quality resettlement submissions, ensuring convincing advocacy and clearance from exclusion and credibility concerns.
Submits recommendations on cases not to be submitted for resettlement for approval by theRSTsupervisor.
Monitors resettlement submissions, quotas and decisions of resettlement countries and remain up to date on Resettlement criteria as applied by both UNHCR and resettlement countries.
Assists in mitigating resettlement fraud through oversight (including in-country travel), advice and guidance; conduct investigations into individual cases, prepare recommendations to be endorsed by supervisor; and report on trends within resettlement fraud.
Mainstreams age, gender and diversity in all areas of work, and ensure the full participation of persons of concern in matters relating to their own protection.
Provides persons of concern and partners with up-to-date and accurate information on UNHCR’s resettlement policies and procedures.
Complies with UNHCR’s policy priorities such as those related to age, gender and diversity as well as HIV/AIDS.
Contributes to establishing good working relations with UNHCR counterparts, including resettlement representatives, government authorities and NGOs through liaison and consistent follow-up with UNHCR counterparts on individual cases, caseloads and issues, when required.
Provides support to governments undertaking resettlement missions.
Ensures systematic data entry, physical and electronic filing, and maintain accurate resettlement statistics as well as up-to-date records on individual cases.
Assists in managing the country operation’s resettlement staff, asssessing needs, preparing a strategy and budget for resettlement activities and monitoring expenditures.
Identifies and recommend relevant training activities for UNHCR and implementing partner staff.
Assists, supports or facilitates resettlement-related training when necessary.
Upon request, prepares LPs in a timely manner to facilitate resettlement departures without delay.
Drafts correspondence and reports from oral instructions, previous correspondence, or other available sources in accordance with office procedures
Performs other duties as required.
