- The Sector receives support for coordination.
- The Office has reliable and up-to-date data on persons of concern relevant to sector needs and interventions.
- Regular links with UNHCR Information Management unit maintained.
- Regular contacts with sector partner agencies, and sector focal points within UNHCR field offices maintained.
Responsibility (process and functions undertaken to achieve results)
- Support coordination, and help organize Sector coordination meetings at the central level, and provide assistance if requested at the field level.
- Organize and maintain the calendar of the sector meetings, draft the agenda and minutes of meetings, note action points agreed on at the meetings and bring to the attention of the Sector Coordinator for follow-up.
- Compile a contact list and maintain up to date.
- Collect and enter data mainly related to Sector options, solutions, and achievements to assist refugees and other persons of concern to UNHCR into the database.
- Compile statistical figures as needed and maintain accurate and comprehensive records on the assistance provided by different agencies (both UNHCR’s implementing partners and other agencies), the numbers of beneficiaries who receive this assistance, and the geographical areas where they are distributed.
- Prepare reports and project documents by providing information, preparing tables and drafting routine correspondence and reports.
- Maintain close links, and regular inter-action with UNHCR Information Management Unit.
- Assist in compilation of data and interpreting the statistics for various reports.
- Assist in the development of forms for data collection and analysis, if requested.
- Act as interpreter in the exchange of routine information and translate routine documents and correspondence as and when required.
- Perform any other duty, as requested.
Authority (decisions made in executing responsibilities and to achieve results)
- Decide on the data recorded in database.
- Decide on appropriate resolution to incidents and escalate issues to the supervisor if incident cannot be resolved within the scope of responsibility.
