Accountability (key results that will be achieved) The Office has reliable and up-to-date data on persons of concern.Responsibility (process and functions undertaken to achieve results) Manage the registration (“proGres”) database, oversee data input and reporting in close collaboration with different focal points (protection, registration, community services, etc.) May be required to enter data mainly related to asylum seekers, refugees and other persons of concern to UNHCR into the computer database. Prepare reports and project documents by providing information, preparing tables and drafting routine correspondence and reports. Assist in compilation of data and interpreting the statistics for various reports. Assist in the development of forms for data collection and analysis, if requested. Act as interpreter in the exchange of routine information and translate routine documents and correspondence as and when required. May be required to collect GIS data, update maps and undertake field trips to project sites. Create and maintain databases and spreadsheets that meet operational requirements. Convert, import and export data from systems as required. Perform daily maintenance, archive and backup; ensure security of databases; perform database administrator functions. Train local staff and/or organize training in data management best practices. Perform any other duty, as requested.Authority(decisions made in executing responsibilities and to achieve results) Decide on the data recorded in database. Decide on appropriate resolution to incidents and escalate issues to the supervisor if incident cannot be resolved within the scope of responsibility.

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED, Define the educational background, the relevant job experience and the language(s) that are essential to perform the work of the position.
 University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
 Strong SQL programming knowledge, preferably Microsoft SQL.
 Knowledge of basic software development.
 Minimum 5 years of previous job experience relevant to the function.
 Fluency in English and working knowledge of another relevant UN language or local language.
(In offices where the working language is not English, excellent knowledge of the UN working language of duty station and working knowledge of English.)
2.5 DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES, Describe any experience or knowledge that would be an asset, such as: UNHCR Learning Programmes, other training, additional languages, Field/HQs experience, etc.
 Knowledge of any other relevant UN or local language.
 Completion of UNHCR learning programmes or specific training relevant to functions of the position.
