Senior External Relations Assistant - Ext004 - G5 (Unops - Affiliated Workforce)

1. Drafts briefing notes, talking points, minutes and prepares other papers for the high level meetings and2. visits;3. Provide briefings when required;4. Accompany visits of foreign delegation, partner NGOs, donors and the media to refugee sites in the region,5. giving appropriate briefings, interpreting support and commentaries;6. Establish contacts with local organisations to promote general interest and understanding of refugee issues;7. Establish contacts with local/international media to promote general interest and pitch stories highlightingUNHCR's work;8. Pitch media trips to the field and liaise for execution;9. Draft and edit public information materials: press releases, fact sheets, Q+As, information brochures;10. Assist with developing and implementing social media strategy- conceptualize and pitch stories forfacebook page, global website and pitch tweets;11. Organize visibility events (e.g. World Refugee Day), and liaise with partners and local community onimplementation;12. Drafts reports, briefings, updates, etc.;13. Review media daily and ensure the office is kept informed of local developments which are of vital interest;14. 9. Handle administrative matters;15. Perform other duties as required;
