1. Accompanies the Field Safety Advisor on regular and ad hoc security assessment missions in order to gather information on the overall security situation as well as the security situation in specific areas.
2. Liaises with local law enforcement, civil authorities, NGOs, and UN agencies to obtain and exchange information on security issues.
3. Maintains address and telephone lists for both UNHCR staff and for NGO Staff.
4. Ensures that management has available updated maps showing the locations of the residences of all staff.
5. Provides basic training on security awareness, preparedness and responses for all staff on arrival.
6. Assists in the preparation and maintenance of security guidelines, measures, standards and MOSS for all offices in the country.
7. Maintains a database of all security incidents.
8. Keeps record of the issuance and return of UNHCR ID cards.
9. Responds to staff security emergencies and provide immediate assistance.
10. Accompanies staff on field missions whenever required.
11. Performs other security related duties as required.
