- Be accountable for checking all the visuals produced are truthful and comply with codes of UNHCR’s brand and guidelines.
- Use brand strategy to design content that drive donors’ acquisition and engagement. Create compelling layouts.
- Deliver visual communication materials for the IG (Digital) and LG fundraising team as requested by the supervisor on time with input from different stakeholders.
- Drive effective completion of all project deliverables on or before deadline.
Responsibility (process and functions undertaken to achieve results)
- Manage the design workflow of all digital campaigns and develop tools and processes to continuously improve efficiency and quality.
- Lead with the Senior Digital Campaigner Associate and the Assistant Engagement Campaigns Officer to perform A/B testing to determine which variations of design are most effective to create on-brand content.
- Proactively scout for resources needed for campaigns, and ensure availability of audio music library, stock photos, and licenses.
- Collaborate with staff on design concepts and visual communications strategies to create designs, concepts and simple layouts.
- Produce visual communication content for donation pages, social media and email content for use on desktop and mobile platforms with a focus on encouraging new current audiences to take action for refugee's cause.
- Produce concept screens for the purpose of illustration and/or business decision-making.
- In line with UNHCR's digital identity, determine size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, and select style and size of type based on campaign/project needs.
- Prepare illustrations or rough sketches of materials, including storyboards to assist in staff visualizing end of product during planning and development of projects and campaigns.
- Use Adobe Flash, IMovie and or other animation/video software to generate short digital animation clips for projects and campaigns.
- Support outsourcing processes to work with suppliers to produce and print the designed materials, ensuring coordination and supervision with video production and printing companies or other service providers.
- Use adobe illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and other design software to generate new images, composition of images and creative typography.
- Produce info-graphics and data visualization images to communicate complex information into easily understood formats.
- Work closely with Copywriter to ensure synergy between written and visual content on the website, blogs, social media and print content.
- Work closely with the web developer to finalize visual materials for digital content.
- Build a growing bank of applied knowledge in effective visual communication and design that is relevant to UNHCR's supporters and stakeholders.
- Keep abreast of current refugee issues, research topics, historic and current events. Develop creative designs that are forward-thinking and in-line with current media trends.
- Monitor, identify, report and advice UNHCR on current and leading thinking around visual communication and design to inform project work.
- Perform other related duties as required.

- Ensure consistency and proper reflection of brand sensibility within our designs across digital properties.
- Brainstorm and propose compelling visuals and concepts to engage public with the refugee's cause.
