Senior Inter-Agency Assistant - G5 - Hrf019 - Beirut

Accountability (key results that will be achieved) - The health, WASH, shelter and basic assistance sector coordinators are appropriately supported to provide leadership within their respective sectors. - Agenda of the sector coordinators and their sectors are kept up to date and relevant. - Information management for the respective sectors is kept up to date. Responsibility (process and functions undertaken to achieve results) - Manage the flow of information to/from the respective sectors; identify priority matters that need to be urgently addressed by the coordinators. - Arrange appointments and maintain the sector calendars, receive visitors, place and screen telephone calls and answer queries with discretion. - Organize and maintain the calendar of sector meetings, draft the agenda and minutes of sector meetings, note action points agreed on at the meetings and bring to the attention of the respective coordinators for follow-up. - Compile and maintain a contact list of inter-agency focal points and agencies for the respective coordinators. - Draft non-substantive correspondence and ensure follow-up. - Prepare background information for meetings to be attended by the coordinators (i.e. agenda, information on the person/organization, information on the topic). - Maintain the electronic and paper-based filing systems for the respective sectors. - Ensure timely administrative procedures regarding field missions (security clearance, mission request, etc.). - Ensure data and information management tools and reports are kept up to date. - Perform other related duties as required. Authority (decisions made in executing responsibilities and to achieve results) - Liaise with external partners and local organizations on behalf of UNHCR sector leadership in WASH, health, shelter and basic assistance.

* ESSENTIAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. Define the educational background, the relevant job experience and the language(s) that are essential to perform the work of the position.

- Complete secondary school education essential with post-secondary training/certificate in office skills or related field.
- Minimum 4 years of previous job experience relevant to the function.
- Excellent English (written and oral) and working knowledge of another relevant UN language

* DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES. Describe any experience or knowledge that would be an asset, such as: UNHCR Learning Programmes, other training, additional languages, Field/HQs experience, etc.

- Knowledge of any other relevant UN.
- Previous experience with a humanitarian NGO or UN agency.
- Completion of UNHCR learning programmes or specific training relevant to functions of the position.
