Protection Hotspots in Sudan, as of 30 June 2025

The Protection Sector hotspot mapping identifies conflict and at-risk areas to provide early warning and inform preventative and response action. The mapping distinguishes between (1) chronic conflict hotspots – areas that are a ected by prolonged, protracted and/or repeated inter-communal violence, armed attacks and low intensity conflict (2) acute conflict hotspots – areas that are currently a ected by new violence, armed attacks or active armed conflict and (3) at-risk locations – location that are at risk of inter-communal violence or armed conflict in the near future, and/or where civilians are at risk of attacks.
