SITUATION OVERVIEW
Heavy rains triggered a devastating landslide in Tarsin village, located in Sharg Aj Jabal locality, South Darfur State, on 31 August. The death toll has not yet been verified, as continuing downpours and extremely rugged terrain make it exceptionally difficult to reach the affected community.
The landslide struck in a remote, mountainous area that is extremely difficult to reach. Vehicle access to the site is almost impossible due to steep terrain and heavy rains, forcing aid workers to cover part of the journey on foot and to transport people and supplies by donkey.
