The call invites proposals from nationally registered non-governmental organizations, civil society organizations, foundations, and academic institutions. Organizations with a strong local presence and close engagement with the target communities are particularly encouraged to apply. The selected partner will implement a 6-month intervention combining the operational management and maintenance of the Community Center with the delivery of social cohesion activities.
The Bourj hammoud center aims to address the recreational and social needs of the local community by offering a public space for activities and services. The Center is envisioned as a flexible, community-driven platform that can host complementary activity “tracks”, and that can create programmatic synergies with the nearby sports courts to expand outreach, increase inclusion, and strengthen social cohesion.
Once fully completed and operational, the Bourj Hammoud Community Center will serve as a multi-purpose municipal community hub—a safe, inclusive space where the municipality and local partners can host community activities, capacity-building sessions, and programmes that strengthen social cohesion and local resilience. The center is envisioned to function in synergy with the surrounding public facilities in Bourj Hammoud—including the Bourj Hammoud Stadium, the municipality football stadium that regularly hosts local matches—supporting complementary sports- and community-based engagement for residents.
