UNOPS has launched the Call for Proposals for the Social Activation of the Space under Yerevan Bridge in Bourj Hammoud, as part of the Sustainable Integrated Municipal Actions (SIMA) project.
The call invites proposals from national officially registered non-governmental organizations, civil society organizations, foundations, and academic or research institutions. The selected partner will implement a 7-month intervention to promote social cohesion, community resilience, and inclusive public spaces through social activities, community events, and capacity-building efforts.
The space beneath the Yerevan Bridge in Bourj Hammoud, long neglected and underutilized, has recently been the focus of an urban retrofitting initiative to transform it into a safer, more accessible, and more vibrant public space.
The scope of the grant/funding covers the following: 1- Organizing and implementing of social cohesion activities; 2- Provision of capacity building and training activities/sessions for the Municipality and the target community, to ensure the continuation of the performance of all the activities in a sustainable manner beyond the grant period.
