Associate Protection & Neutrality Officer, Band F

Support the integrated checks of UNRWA installations

• Follow up with inspectors to organise visits, Facilitate and/ or accompany visits

• Support the analysis and follow up of issues arising during visits, contributing to an area based plan as appropriate feeding into protection         

    mainstreaming work

• Identify and carry out mural projects, working closely with community members

• Work with CAOs to resolve issues as requested.

 . Support UNRWA staff to ensure that services are safe and everyone, including particularly vulnerable groups and individuals, has safe, dignified 

   and meaningful access to them.

• Advise as requested other UNRWA programmes to integrate protection principles and age, gender and diversity considerations

• Support protection audit activities and other mainstreaming initiatives from LFO

• Support training on protection to staff and partners as required

• Support other programmes to safely identify and refer cases on a systematic and ad-hoc basis •

 . Facilitate area level coordination meetings

• Raise issues and trends to Area Management team and LFO protection team

• Support individuals with particularly difficult cases to access UNRWA services Ensure that Palestine Refugees have access to appropriate

   individual support, safely identifying and referring cases. (PNA) • Identify and refer Palestinian refugees and other vulnerable individuals to

   access UNRWA services and those of other partners • Identify, document and refer appropriately cases of protection violations as appropriate

• Identify, document and refer cases for emergency cash

• Ensure regular updating of reporting mechanisms

• Lead trend analysis discussions for the area. Ensure regular protection monitoring, analysis and response in the community

• Train and support focal points for protection monitoring

• Follow up with focal points to ensure forms are filled; Conduct quarterly protection monitoring meetings in camps

• Design and implement action plan based on protection monitoring together with focal points and with input from UNRWA protection staff

• Provide other service providers and other UNRWA programmes with regular updates and analysis on this context

• Support and take part in other assessments

• Work closely with the legal aid team to support Palestinian refugees to access legal aid services.

 . Monitor the situation of PRS and identify actions to support their needs

• Interview PRS new arrivals on a regular basis and support their access to services and undertake regular surveys

• Support the legal team to meet regularly with PRS committees or groups and identify access cases

• Regularly monitor the protection situation of PRS through close consultation with them Coordinate work on the protection of Palestinian refugees

   at an area and camp level, acting as a bridge between the community and UNRWA

• Undertake service mapping or updating on an annual basis

• Play an active role in meetings at a camp level (CPNs, Women's networks, others) and ensure information is relayed to appropriate UNRWA actors

   – and that UNRWA departments are linked to these groups

• Participate in protection working groups and ensure other actors have a good knowledge of UNRWA's protection services, sharing trends analysis

    with them.

• Maintain regular contact with women and girls' committees, ensuring they are linked to UNRWA and feel valued
