Estimates, orders, receives and distributes the health centres/points needs of medical supplies using the computer systems such as PIMS and FMS; follows up supply and procurement of medical and other supplies with the concerned staff in Procurement and Logistics Department and participates in the analysis of the related bids;
Participates in planning, directing, supervising, monitoring and evaluating the Agency’s pharmaceutical services in the Field;
Undertakes regular supervisory visits to UNRWA health centers/points in the field to ensure that medical supplies are available at all times in adequate quantities and ensures adherence to UNRWA polices, Technical Instructions, guidelines and procedures;
Advises on staff development needs and conducts in-service training on rationale use of drugs, good dispensing practice, good storage practice and safe and correct use of drugs;
Reviews and scrutinizes supply requisitions to ensure compliance with UNRWA specifications; contributes to the reviewing and updating of UNRWA lists of essential drugs;
Assists FPSO in administration of the Field Central Pharmacy and pharmacies at Health Centres;
Coordinates pre-planned needs assessment studies carried out by the Health Programme and liaises with counterparts to improve the pharmaceutical services and enhance the use of assets and resources;
Participates in recruiting, orienting, training, directing and evaluating the work of Assistant Pharmacists in the Field;
Follows up the necessary supply documents and survey reports regarding rejected, short, expired and damaged medical supplies;
Acts for Field Pharmaceutical Services Officer during his/her absence;
Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
