Is responsible for all related activities concerning rehabilitation of electrical network in camp, assessment of the situation, recommending and studying in coordination with EDL all corrective measures.
Is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the construction/maintenance site, related to electrical works, including supervising and monitoring the site contractors’ labourers and the work of subcontractors, ensuring quality, health and safety measures on site; including coordination with all bodies concerned (EDL, Municipality, Local Authorities, Donors, etc..)
Reviews locations of existing utilities/ electrical set up for possible conflict and resolves any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise in consultation with supervisor;
Checks electrical working drawings, shop drawings and as-built drawings, compared with the actual level and details of substructures, ensuring accuracy; carries out any urgent design or modification on site.
Prepares technical, financial and any such related technical reports and information as may be required by the Agency or the donor; particularly, detailed time schedules, cost and calculates time requirements and provides recommendations as appropriate;
Prepares daily, weekly and monthly progress reports by collecting, analysing and summarizing information and trends;
Reviews and checks project documents and reports about any discrepancies and deviation from site conditions; ensures that “as built” drawings are prepared properly;
Keeps site records, inspection forms, measurements tracker and monitors project progress; identifies and, if necessary, escalates problems that may affect project completion;
Valuates contractors’ executed electrical works, reviews payment requests and verifies interim and final payment certificates according to measurements of satisfactory completed works; makes comments and recommendations to supervisor;
Monitors the quality of materials used in the project; ensures that the supplied or coordinated materials by UNRWA are strictly used for the intended project and purpose; keeps accurate records of materials delivered to the site per type, quantity and date;
Performs such other duties as may be assigned covering all UNRWA premises in the field.
