Electro Mechanical Engineer   Location All Areas (Beqa’a Area – Central Lebanon Area – North Lebanon Area – Saida Area – Tyre Area) Type of Appointment Contractor Deadline for Application 29 March 2015 Vacancy Announcement Number 990/2015 Department/Division Field Infrastructure andCampImprovementProgramme   MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES In accordance with established Agency policy and procedures, the incumbent will supervises the KFW (German Government owned organization) Project in Lebanon Field. In specific, the incumbent will: (A)    Survey all power plant in premises including electric generators, generators room, panel boards, wiring…etc, and recommends actions needed; (B)    Survey all water plants and water wells in camps, prepares a data base, make recommendations for actions needed. (C)   Drafts specifications for electrical installation for various Agency premises and construction projects; (D)   Survey electrical installations of the Agency premises , prepares recommendations for replacement and drafts related technical drawings; (E)    Prepares bills of quantities and estimates of electrical installations surveyed or planned for new constructions; (F)    Prepares electrical installation drawings for projects of upgrading and conversion as may be required; (G)   Follows-up on the execution of all electrical work for new constructions, upgrading and conversion projects undertaken by the department; (H)   Draft specifications, drawing and bills of quantities for water piping and for central heating installations; (I)      Supervises installation and maintenance of water piping, central heating and air-conditioning in Agency premises and projects; (J)    Performs such other duties as may be assigned, mainly related to electro mechanical issues;     PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES (A)  Academic and Professional        A university degree in Electrical Engineering from a university recognized by UNRWA.   (B)  Experience i)       At least two years experience in electrical and electromechanical installation, testing commissioning, and supervision ii)     Knowledge and experience in UNRWA installation is preferable. iii)    Possession of a valid driving license.   (C)  Language        Good knowledge of spoken and written English and Arabic.   ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Will be required to travel frequently in the country of duty station.   CONDITIONS OF SERVICE Salary: As per relevant salary scale. Contract Duration: Eight months. Working Schedule: from Monday through Saturday.   EQUIVALENCY Candidates with an equivalent combination of relevant academic qualifications, professional training and progressive work experience may also be considered.   GENERAL INFORMATION UNRWA is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications equally from men and women.
