Medical Officer (A)   Location All areas (Beqa’a Area  – Central Lebanon Area – North Lebanon Area – Saida Area – Tyre Area) Type of Appointment Fixed Term – Three Years (one post: Part time at Saida Area)   Employment Roster: 25 persons (5 per area) Deadline for Application 21 November 2013 Vacancy Announcement Number 78/2013 Grade 15 Department/Division Health Department   MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES In accordance with Agency policy and procedures, the incumbent: (A)     If in charge of a health centre, is responsible for the operation and administration of services including: (i)  General clinic services, including supply management; (ii)Mother and child health care and family planning services; (iii)   Special care services; (iv)   Oral health services; (v) Laboratory services; (vi)   Health information system; (vii)  Examination of Agency employed staff. (B)     If under the supervision of Senior Medical Officer, is responsible for a general clinic and/or other special services, i.e., maternal and child health or disease control; (C)     In the field of administration, the Medical Officer, if in charge of a health centre, is responsible for the supervision of the work of staff who provide health services to the community served by the unit including school health, supplementary feeding and environmental health services (in camps); (D)     Performs such other duties as may be required.   PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES (A)   Academic and Professional i)        A medical degree from a recognized university including an internship of at least twelve months duration. ii)      A valid governmental license to practice medicine in the Field of operation to which he/she is assigned.   (B)   Experience At least four years of satisfactory professional working experience.   (C)   Language Good command of spoken & written English   (C)   Competencies i)        Ability to work under pressure; ii)      Excellent computer skills; iii)     Excellent organizational and communication skills.   CONDITIONS OF SERVICE Salary: Monthly basic salary L.L. 2,333,866.- Contract Duration: - Fixed term –Three years to fill one vacant part time post at Nabatieh / Ansarieh (Saida Area)                                 - To establish an employment roster with a total of 25 persons (Five persons per each of the                                   following five areas: Beqa’a Area – Central Lebanon Area – North Lebanon Area – Saida Area –Tyre                                                 Area)  Holidays: 30 days annual leave Dependency allowance: Dependent spouse: L.L 60,000 per month     Dependent child: L.L 33,000 per month Pension:  Provident Fund contribution   EQUIVALENCY Candidates with an equivalent combination of relevant academic qualifications, professional training and progressive work experience may also be considered.   RECRUITMENT PROCESS The Recruitment process is based on the Agency’s strategy to obtain the best qualified and suitable employees through a competitive recruitment process. After the deadline for receiving applications, all applications will be reviewed by the Human Resources Office and the Hiring Department.  Only Short-listed candidates who fully meet the required criteria shall be contacted and undergo technical/practical tests and the candidates with the highest passing scores will then be invited to interview (see “Technical and Practical Tests Required” below). The final recommendation for selection is based on the test results, interview assessment, Agency priorities and needs and the candidates’ profiles. If the post is a project funded post (this will be indicated in the vacancy), an internal candidate with a temporary-indefinite or fixed-term appointment selected for this post will not retain his/her current contractual status and entitlements in accordance with current letter of appointment and applicable Area Staff Rules. The Agency maintains the discretion to fill future vacancies for this position from the roster without re-advertising the vacancy.   TECHNICAL & PRACTICAL TESTS REQUIRED Short-listed candidates will sit for two tests: Written technical test (100%). Computer test (Pass/Fail), which includes (Basic level: MS.
