Mainstreaming
Support the mainstreaming of protection principles and standards in UNRWA service delivery and programmes including the implementation of a protection audit review and follow-up on its recommendations
Support individual Palestine Refugee’s access to services
Train UNRWA staff on protection principles
Protection monitoring and referral
Establish focal points in the community for protection monitoring
Ensure regular protection monitoring in the community including leading or reporting on focus groups
Refer Palestine refugees to appropriate services as needed
Undertake a mapping of key referral services in the Beqaa
Identify, refer and support international protection cases as needed.
Coordination
Liaise with Palestine Refugee community groups and coordination networks in the Beqaa
Liaise with protection actors in the Beqaa
Represent protection within the Beqaa team and coordinate with the Chief Area Officer and other departments to improve protection outcomes and advocate for better protection in the community
Neutrality
Support neutrality inspections in the area and the implementation of any remedial measures needed.
Reporting
Collate regular contextual reports from protection monitoring data
Regularly update UNRWA colleagues on the protection situation in the Beqaa
Contribute to UNRWA protection reporting as required
