Monitor and provide verbal and written reports on population flow of Palestinian refugees from Syria (PRS) to Lebanon and from Lebanon to Syria;
Liaise with all relevant partners (in UNRWA and outside) to collect data and information for the written reports on newly arrived PRS and movements toward Syria;
Communicate with PRS newcomers to explain UNRWA services and answer protection concerns whether through ad hoc and one-on-one discussions and/or interventions;
Organize focus group discussions with PRS to understand challenges related to access to services in Lebanon and their perspectives about the situation in Syria;
Document and report protection cases, including grave violations of children’s rights.
Maintain and reinforce referral pathways with other protection actors, and monitor to ensure referrals are followed up and adequate responses to protection concerns are met;
Ensure information on services provided by UNRWA and other service providers to PRS are disseminated internally and externally;
In coordination with the Field protection Officer, participate in working group meetings in relation to the situation in Syria and the perspective related to returns;
Regularly coordinate with UNHCR team and relevant stakeholders at the border to ensure that any relevant case is referred to UNRWA and duly followed-up;
Lead on any concrete initiative (trainings, forms, SOPs etc.) to increase the preparedness of the Protection team in terms of returns and its governing principles;
Stay abreast of humanitarian, political, social, economic, and cultural developments affecting PRS;
Closely follow up the humanitarian situation of PRS hosting communities, especially Palestine Refugees in Lebanon (PRL);
Perform other duties as required.
