Site Engineer   Location Nahr El Bared Camp Type of Appointment Contractor Deadline for Application 30 October 2013 Vacancy Announcement Number 935/2013 Department/Division Office of the Director - North Management Unit    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES In accordance with established Agency policy and procedures, the incumbent: (A)     Work under the supervision of NMU (North Management Unit) head of Reconstruction and construction site Manager in NBC (Nahr El Bared Camp). (B)     Supervise the on going reconstruction projects in NBC old Camp, and whenever specified by supervisors, and reporting to NMU Engineering management unit. (C)     Control the daily and weekly reports. (D)     Control and coordinate all activities related to construction activities for site preparation concrete and finishing works and making all site coordination which different contractors on site. (E)     Insure that communication with all concerned parties is done in a timely manner and in accordance with the need regulations. (F)      Insure that the measurements conducted by the construction contractors are accurate. Keep and verify payments, in coordination with UNRWA Q.S. management unit. (G)     Report and coordinate with the Project all matters related to reconstruction activities. (H)     Perform such other duties as may be assigned by management of reconstruction unit.   PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES (A)   Academic and Professional A university degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent   (B)   Experience        Two Years’ Experience after professional qualification   (C)   Language        Good command of written and spoken English and Arabic.   CONDITIONS OF SERVICE Salary: Monthly salary (full package) USD $2,200.- Contract Duration: One year (Extendable according to availability of Funds)   EQUIVALENCY Candidates with an equivalent combination of relevant academic qualifications, professional training and progressive work experience may also be considered.   GENERAL INFORMATION UNRWA is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications equally from men and women.
