Programme Policy Officer (Agricultural Engineer)

Duties and Responsibilities:  Within delegated authority and under the direct supervision of the Head of the Livelihood Unit or his/her designate and the overall supervision of the Head of Programme, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties: Provide technical guidance and contribute towards the development of project activities, plans and processes within the field of livelihoods and resilience to Country Office, Sub-office and partners ensuring alignment with WFP’s wider programme policies and guidelines.   Technical Planning and Implementation: Manage and coordinate the technical planning and implementation of FFA and FFT activities in direct collaboration with WFP’s cooperating partners. Supervise and monitor the implementation of activities to ensure that the assets created adhere to technical specifications, quality standards and programme objectives. Design, implement and oversee training of trainers (TOT) for different FFA and FFT activities. Develop work plans that guide the implementation of FFA and FFT activities. Support the Country Office Livelihoods Unit in developing context-specific implementation and operational manuals and guidelines for implementation of FFA and FFT.      3.     Reporting, Guidance and Coordination:   Document and disseminate best practices, lessons learned and challenges faced on FFA/FFT activities in consultation with partners. Develop context-specific tools and activities that assist vulnerable communities in asset creation and related trainings. Report on progress of work through submission of regular field reports to the Country Office Livelihood Unit. Regularly attend the Food Security, Livelihoods and core cluster working groups and relevant meetings with key stakeholders and WFP’s cooperating partners.    4.     Perform other related duties as required and deemed necessary by the direct supervisor.
