The job involves working closely with all WFP units to provide strategic and operational support to achieve effective outcomes within WFP’s engagement with the retail sector; increased purchase power and availability for beneficiaries; broader retail sector development; and application of relevant retail sector supply chain practices (plan, source and deliver). The incumbent will be responsible for developing the capacity of WFP contracted grocery shops. He/She will report directly to the Supply Chain Officer but will work closely with other key WFP departments and shops. Within delegated authority under the direct supervision of the Supply Chain Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties: Work with Fields monitors, store managers and other WFP units to assist them with analysis and understanding of the retail business to meet WFP goals. Analyze itemized sales data, create templates to run monthly scorecards, ad hoc reports to support unit’s needs, category management analysis, business analysis, etc. Guide WFP units and partners to take a strategic and proactive approach to achieve higher standards in the retail sector. Identify most common and most pressing training needs for shop managers, develop appropriate material, build training plan. Support Supply Chain Officer and store managers in the establishment of buying clubs, consolidating quantities across WFP contracted shops. Perform other related duties as required.
