Contract Duration:

The Risk and Compliance Officer will be contracted for an initial term of 12 months. Contract may be extended based on business need and satisfactory performance.

WFP Lebanon also provides food assistance in the form of snack and fresh food to school aged students and their families. This support is designed to improve the students’ health and make them and their families more motivated to pursue the children’s right to education.

Job Purpose

To perform the needed risk and compliance tasks and assist in developing reports and updates on the progress of implementing controls.

Key Responsibilities (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):

Within delegated authority and under the direct supervision of the Risk and Compliance Advisor, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Oversee the day-to-day implementation of the Risk Management and Compliance unit (RMCU)
  • Response to the donor's requests and report and update the risk management section in the donor's proposals and narratives.
  • With the coordination of the head of the unit, prepare annual, quarterly, monthly and weekly risk and compliance reports and updates on the progress of implementing controls.
  • Draft ad-hoc and review progress reports and thematic reports if required.
  • Design, develop, implement, and coordinate systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Deliver Anti-Fraud Anti-Corruption (AFAC) training sessions.
  • Act as a focal point in the corporate risk system (R2) and follow up in implementing and closing all agreed actions and recommendations.
  • Support the RCA with all the internal and external audit exercises by liaising with all the related units. 
  • Perform other related duties, as required.

Desired Knowledge and Skills:

  • Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • Excellent drafting, formulation, and reporting skills
  • Solid skills with database management; and office technology equipment
  • Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing
  • Excellent follow-up and deadline management
  • Good skills in operating, managing, and maintaining cloud-based solution as SharePoint, and OneDrive.

Standard Minimum Qualifications: 

Education: Advanced University degree (i.e. Master's degree or higher) in Project Management, Financial Management, Accounting, Audit, Business, or other relevant field or First University degree in a relevant field (i.e. Bachelor’s degree) with additional years of related work experience or training/courses.

Experience:  One (1) or more years of postgraduate professional experience (after completion of Advanced University degree) reporting and business support. Experience in virtual systems and network environment is an asset. Previous experience working in the humanitarian field, UN agency or other international development organization is an added value, or, three (3) years or more after completion of First University degree.

Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in Arabic and English. Fluency in another UN language is a plus.
