CARE project (Comprehensive Assistance for Resilience and Empowerment) is a humanitarian initiative aimed at supporting displaced populations, with a particular focus on empowering youth and addressing the needs of pregnant women. The project seeks to enhance resilience by providing comprehensive services, including awareness sessions, and skill-building activities tailored to the unique challenges faced by these vulnerable groups. By fostering empowerment and promoting self-reliance, CARE aims to improve the overall well-being of both displaced individuals and host communities while preserving their dignity and strengthening their ability to rebuild their lives as well we enhancing the synergy and social cohesion.
General Information about Venture Association: Venture Association in North Lebanon announces its need for a Legal Midwife. To work within the project “CARE project (Comprehensive Assistance for Resilience and Empowerment)”- Funded by NEAR

Purpose of the Role
The Legal Midwife will provide comprehensive maternal healthcare services, including pre- and postnatal care, health education, and psychological support to pregnant women. The role also involves conducting home visits, supporting outreach activities, and contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of the project to ensure its success and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Health Education and Awareness
- Conduct health awareness sessions for pregnant women on safe pregnancy practices, breastfeeding, and family planning.
- Develop culturally appropriate educational materials and distribute them during sessions.
- Provide postpartum care, including guidance on nutrition, breastfeeding, and maternal well-being.
Outreach and Home Visits
- Assist in outreach activities to identify and engage pregnant women in the community.
- Implement home visits for postpartum women to provide follow-up care and support.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Support data collection, including attendance sheets and pre- and post-evaluations for project activities.
- Assist in analyzing data to assess the effectiveness of activities and improve service delivery.
Support in Distribution
- Facilitate the distribution of maternal and newborn kits to beneficiaries.
- Ensure proper documentation of distributed items for accountability.
Coordination and Documentation
- Collaborate with other project teams to ensure service integration and consistency.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of beneficiaries and services provided.
- Prepare and submit timely reports on activities, achievements, and challenges.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience as a midwife, preferably in humanitarian or development settings.
- Experience in health education and outreach is an advantage.
- Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of maternal and child health services.
- Ability to perform data collection and basic evaluations.
- Proficiency in using healthcare tools and maintaining documentation.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with beneficiaries.
- Organizational skills for efficient outreach and follow-up activities.
- Flexibility to adapt to diverse cultural and social settings.
- Languages: Fluency in Arabic is required; proficiency in English is preferred.
Key Deliverables
- Conduct health awareness sessions.
- Complete home visits for all assigned postpartum women within the specified time frame.
- Accurately document all activities and data collected, ensuring timely submission of reports.
- Distribute kits to eligible beneficiaries and maintain proper records of distributions.
