Background of ACL Replication Initiative
The ACL model was initially developed to support civic engagement in Lebanese municipalities where formal local governance structures had weakened or collapsed, and a second round is underway. The Labs offered a flexible, context-adapted framework to:
- foster active citizenship and local leadership.
- encourage practical civic engagement.
- address governance challenges through collaborative local solutions.
Given the success of the first round, SDLG will launch a “special edition” targeting Lebanon-based organisations working directly with Syrian communities in Lebanon , to build their capacities and collaborate on designing and implementing community-driven civic engagement initiatives geared towards local governance.

Based inside Lebanon and working directly with Syrian communities aged between 18-45 years.
