Accountant/admin Assistant

Objective of the position The Accountant/Admin Assistant ensures that accounting processes and systems are running effectively and efficiently to enable programme staff and other stakeholders to implement the War Child Programme in Lebanon. The Accountant/Admin Assistant is also responsible for the compliance with external donor financial and administrative requirements. Based in the War Child Holland office in Beirut, he/she directly reports to the Operations Support Manager (OSM). Job Title:                                              Accountant/Admin Assistant   Organization:                                      War Child Holland Job Location:                                       Beirut, Lebanon Result Areas/Responsibilities: Finances • Enter accounting information into bookkeeping (SAGE), and cross check accurateness and completeness before submitting in a timely manner. • Handle petty cash •Check receipts and eligibility • Prepare Checks and transfers. • Ensure that all bookkeeping/financial documents of partners and War Child are compiled and organized according to international auditing standards. • Follow up closely on monthly cash and cheque advances Administration • Performs administrative tasks (photocopies, buying stationeries, scanning/faxing documents). Other • In the absence of the SFO provide support to the WCH team and partners. • Take on any other relevant tasks to the area of responsibility as requested by the OSM or SFO. Reporting •  Reports directly to the Senior Finance Officer. Profile Knowledge  • A  degree in accountancy or similar; Experience • experience in similar positions with an NGO for an EU- or UNICEF/UNHCR funded project is preferable (if possible SAGE package);   Skills • Result-oriented, attentive to detail and cost-conscious; •  Fluency in English and Arabic is a requirement; • Knowledge of Microsoft office and Specially Excel Other requirements: • Works well in small team, flexible to take on new tasks, comfortable in a flexible working environment; •  Lebanese Conditions • Full time job of 40 hours per week, distributed in five days according the needs of the program. • Health insurance • Transportation allowance according to Lebanese Labor law •  The staff will follow the Terms and Conditions of employment of War Child Holland Lebanon
