Child Protection Coordinator

The Child Protection (CP) Coordinator is responsible for the implementation, follow up and M&E of the child protection standards within WCH and for creating linkages between WCH CP programming and the (external) professional field. The CP Coordinator is part of the Quality Control Department.  The CP Coordinator is expected to ensure the quality of the WCH CP Programme all over Lebanon and contribute to the integral implementation, M&E of the CP approach in all the projects. Purpose of the job          Focal point for partners of WCH for Child Safety (CS) and Child Protection (CP) programming          Overall implementation, follow up and monitoring of CP programming within War Child Projects          Assess CP programming needs          Anticipate CP rights violations, assessment and referral Position within the organisation The CP Coordinator is part of the Quality Control Section and reports from a line position directly to the Child Protection Specialist. Other essential relations are:          Maintaining a close working relationship with project coordinators/managers, directly related to the CP area of work within all War Child Lebanon projects.          Maintaining a close working relationship with the thematic specialists – Psychosocial Support Specialist, Education Specialist – to ensure connectedness and integrated programming;          Maintaining a close working relationship with the Coordinators for Capacity Enhancement Planning, to ensure use and promotion of uniform methods, tools and forms in implementation of activities, training and PME;          Maintaining a close working relationship with the CD, EPMs, PCs and Field Staff, gathering input for program development and monitoring, assist the CP specialist in rolling out standards, methods and tools, advising on programming, facilitating exchange and learning and building the capacity of program staff; The CP Coordinator maintains other working relationships in the organisation when needed. Result areas 1. Implement and monitor shared CP programming standards Based on WCH programming practice and international standards, ensure that WCH policy and standards for CP are implemented in the field. 2. implement and monitor the use of CP methods and tools Based on Child Protection policy/standards; ensure that (creative) methods and tools are used for the implementation of WCH CP Programs in collaboration with the PSS and CP specialists. 3a. Stimulate and monitor CP programming          Roll out standards and tools for Child Protection programming;          Advise on CP program and project proposals (including those applying for institutional funds);          Generate overview of quality of CP in WCH projects: status, methods used and results achieved;          Review WCH reports and evaluations. 3b. Stimulate and monitor implementation of Child Safety standards at WCH          Support the implementation of WCH Child Safety policy          Support partners in development and implementation of Child Safety policy          Generate overview of status and quality of Child Safety policy and implementation with partners 4. Build capacity of WCH staff and partner staff          Provide Briefings, Training of Trainers; and tailored trainings where needed and feasible.          Provide ongoing support, guidance, advice to HO and WPA staff regarding CP and Child Safety. 5. Ensure linkage/integration with other thematic fields          Liaise with other thematic Coordinators (PSS, Education) to ensure integrated approach to programming          Ensure that CP area connects with other WCH areas of work          Ensure use of uniform methods, tools and forms in activities, training and PME. 6. Externally represent, profile, and advocate for WCH CP themes          Represent WCH externally, in assigned working groups and other relevant platforms/networks;          Support identification/packaging of CP advocacy issues within working groups/platforms/networks          Contribute to the development/revision of materials developed in working groups/platforms/networks Job profile Knowledge          Relevant academic background (Social Sciences / International Development Studies);          Specialist knowledge of current principles and practices of Child Safety and Child Protection;          Understanding of child rights (programming) in conflict and post conflict environments. Experience          Minimum 3 years (I)NGO work in developing countries / conflict areas, preferably with children;          Minimum 1 year in the field of CP and program implementation;          Minimum 1 year in the field of Child Protection;          Minimum 1 year in staff capacity building and experience in providing trainings          Demonstrated experience in monitoring and evaluation of projects Skills          Ability to express himself/herself skilfully in written and oral English and fluent in Arabic.          Strong critical analysis and strategic thinking skills;          Planning and coordination ability;          Monitoring and Evaluation ability;          Ability to provide (creative/interactive) trainings;          Excellent communication skills; ability to give and receive feedback.
