IT Officer

Core responsibilities:

 

Providing ICT support

  • Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications;
  • Installs new software, updates and hardware
  • monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks;
  • talking staff through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the telephone, to help set up systems or resolve issues;
  • troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults;
  • replacing parts as required;
  • providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports;
  • supporting the roll-out of new applications;
  • setting up new users' accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues;
  • responding within agreed time limits to call-outs;
  • working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate);
  • prioritizing and managing many open cases at one time;
  • testing and evaluating new technology;
  • Sets up equipment such as laptops, data projectors, interactive whiteboards, sound systems and other specialist ICT equipment, ensuring that systems are ready for use
  • Checks internet connectivity is maintained in the different locations where projects is being implemented;
  • Detects, diagnoses and resolves most PC, printer and peripheral device faults
  • Conducting electrical safety checks on computer equipment.
  • Assists in planning and implementing changes to elements of the ICT service;
  • Sets up equipment such as laptops, data projectors, interactive whiteboards, sound systems and other specialist ICT equipment, ensuring that systems are ready for use and operating correctly;
  • Detects, diagnose and resolve most PC, printer and peripheral device faults;
  • Provide timely and professional, client level technical support for our WCH community.
  • Collaborate as a team member on technology initiatives and projects.
  • Maintain a commitment to continual self--‐improvement through regular professional development opportunities.
  • Install and deploy new equipment, and perform hardware/software upgrades and installations.
  • Ensures routine safety checks, including electrical tests, are carried out and appropriate records maintained; 
  • Be part of the implementation and the scoring in the platform used.

 

Necessary experience:

Relevant academic background (IT, Computer Science, etc)

Knowledge of program development, logistics and administration;

Planning, analytical and organizational capabilities;

Strong planning and organizing skills to handle many tasks with deadlines;
Fluent English and Arabic;

Advanced computer skills;

Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with team members;
