GENERAL EU funded project: Strengthening the learning support sector for Palestinian refugees in South Lebanon The teachers of Learning Support classes are key to the success of ultimately delivering quality services to children and improving their educational outcomes.  As such, these activities form the core of this action. The idea is to build the capacities of local NGOs by increasing the capacities of teachers in learning support teaching methods specifically. It is essential to mention that the learning support focuses on three core subjects, identified as priorities by UNRWA, which are Arabic, English, and Mathematics.     Therefore, the consultant and WCH Project Coordinator and Education Specialist have designed a 3 days Mathematics training based on the needs of the local partners. The aim of the training is to support teachers of local partners in delivering mathematics learning support for children that have learning support difficulties by using creative and active learning methodologies.     DELIVERABLES   Provides teachers with professional motivation and additional skills, to improve motivation and retention in teaching Mathematics Provides training, which is all child-centered and based on the needs teachers Mathematics Teaching methodologies, as well as Geometry Introducing Mathematics through games by using creative methodologies Mathematics classroom management Active learning teaching   MANAGEMENT The work will be carried out under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator and in close cooperation with the Education specialist, the Operations Support Manager and Finance department, whose appointment in anticipated in the coming weeks.   FACILITIES AND SUPPORT Facilities: The trainer may make use of WCH drivers and vehicles where travel is required. Transportation within Beirut for work purposes will be provided.   Support: In addition to support from those team members listed above, there is the support from the project field officer.
