Project Coordinator

Purpose/Objective of the position   The project Coordinator is responsible to manage and oversee the implementation of one or more projects and to achieve the objectives of the project proposal in cooperation with the Programme Team. Position in the organization: The Project Coordinator is part of the Program Coordination Department reporting to the Program Manager. S/he collaborates with the Programme Development Team.     Major Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:   Project/Program 1-      Result 1 Planning and monitoring the project’s implementation Regularly communicate with partners and WCH team to ensure project activities are implemented in accordance with the plan. Draft and follow up on the project action plan, ensuring all actors (partners and WCH team) are familiar and follow the plan Support relevant actors in the implementation of the plan, for example by supporting the organization of trainings, consultancies, etc. Monitors activities, outputs and results of the project through regular collection  and compilation of reports by partners and WCH team and analysis Identify problematic issues and liaise with relevant actors (partners, WCH Programme Development Team) to find solutions to these   2-      Result 2: the project is planned and implemented according to the plan; problematic issues are identified and followed up promptly.    Donors’ and WCH internal compliance • Ensures that all project and donor reports are submitted on time and are of good quality Regularly  monitor the budget in cooperation with the Finance Officer and Programme Manager to ensure proper expenditure of each budget line Follow up closely with partners on monthly expenditures and deviations from planned budget. Follow up donors’ requests in cooperation with PM Responsible for project supporting documents according to WCH internal rules (PFA, internal budgets, etc.) in cooperation with PM Supports PM in coordination with WCH HO and various requests as needed   3-      Result3: management and administration of activities are handled in such a way that budget expenditures are controlled and reports are delivered on time.   Coordination, communication with and coaching of partners Act as the min focal point with local partners – including above mentioned points and:   Assessing partners’ capacity in cooperation with PDM and PM and compiling OCA (Organisation capacity assessment) Providing regular coaching to local partners’ staff Communicating on security issues affecting the programme Ensures and promotes the integration of WCH core values and principles (humanitarian principles, do no harm, best interest of the child, child participation, etc.) into all project activities with the support of the PDM and PM. Contribute to programme development contribute to preparation of new projects contribute to strategy development, Annual Plan development contribute to internal reports (3M, 6M, Annual Reports, etc.     Working Relationships:   Contact Reason for Contact Frequency of Contact Programme Manager Direct Manager Daily Development Manager Coordination Weekly Other Departments/colleagues Coordination       KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES                 Education · Degree in social sciences or related field   Experience · 3-5 years · Preferably previous experience working with children/refuges/vulnerable populations   Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong communication skills Fluency in Arabic and English Flexibility Cultural sensitivity Attention to detail with strong follow up Team oriented, with ability to work efficiently independently Proficient in Ms Office - word processing, spread sheets, etc.
